Support for Young Adults & Adults
Including Chronic Illness Support — Available UK-Wide
Most of what people hear about SoulSpace Pastoral is about children, young people and families — but a lot of adults reach out too. Whether you're in education, working, between the two, or navigating a chronic illness that's reshaped daily life, you don't need to be a parent or a pupil to have someone genuinely listen and help you work out what's next.
This support is for young adults and adults of any age, whether or not you're currently in education, training or work.
What This Support Actually Is
It's a listening ear, first and foremost — a regular, unhurried space to talk through what's actually going on, without needing to have it all figured out before you get in touch.
Beyond listening, this support is practical: helping you understand what's actually available to you, and where to find it. That might mean helping you make sense of a system that doesn't explain itself, finding the right service or charity for your specific situation, or simply helping you work out what your next sensible step actually is.
What This Support Isn't
To be clear and upfront about it: this isn't medical care, and it isn't counselling or therapy. I won't diagnose, treat, or provide clinical or therapeutic advice. Where something genuinely needs a doctor, a specialist, or a qualified therapist, I'll say so plainly and help you find the right person — rather than trying to be a substitute for care that needs to come from somewhere else.
Chronic Illness Support
Living with a chronic illness often means living with a second, quieter job — appointments, paperwork, explaining yourself again to someone new, trying to plan a life around something unpredictable. It's exhausting in ways that are hard to explain to people who haven't lived it, and it's easy to end up managing all of it alone.
This support offers a steady, ongoing relationship with someone who isn't trying to fix the illness itself, but is genuinely alongside you — someone to talk to honestly, and someone who can help you find services, support groups, and practical help you might not know exist.
A National Service
Unlike our in-person pastoral support for children and families, which is based in Staffordshire & Cheshire, this support for young adults and adults is delivered by phone or video call and is available anywhere in the UK — wherever you actually are.
If any of this sounds like what you need, get in touch at [email protected] and we can talk through whether it's the right fit. If it isn't, I'll do my best to point you towards someone who can help.
